Neil Brand presents Buster Keaton
November 17, 2018 - 7:45 pm

The life and funniest moments from the films of the great comedian and the screening of the complete silent film “Steamboat Bill Junior” [71 min.] with live accompaniment composed and played by Neil Brand.

Composer and musician Neil Brand (BBC4 documentary series ‘Sound of Cinema’, ‘Sound of Song’, ‘Sound of Musicals’ and Radio 4 Film Programme regular contributor) presents an evening of Buster Keaton, using clips of his funniest moments and the magnificent feature Steamboat Bill Junior. We journey with Neil through Buster’s early life, his funniest gags and most death-defying stunts and finally watch him try to impress his river-rat father and get caught in acyclone that brings THAT house falling down around him.

If you thought you knew Buster, there will be plenty to surprise you – if you’ve never seen Buster live, this is the perfect way to do it.

“…The Doyen of silent film accompanists…”
Torin Douglas, Today Programme BBC Radio 4
