Craig Ogden, guitar and Claire Bradshaw, mezzo soprano

With a string of No.1 CDs to his name, Australian born guitarist, Craig Ogden, is one of the most acclaimed classical guitarists of his generation. For this programme he teams up with his opera star wife, mezzo soprano, Claire Bradshaw, in a programme which blends classical works by Henry Purcell, Franz Schubert and Joaquin Rodrigo with some of the standards of Jerome Kern and George Gershwin.
Claire Bradshaw was born in Yorkshire and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music and at The National Opera Studio. Whilst at the R.N.C.M. she won all of the College’s main vocal awards and was also a finalist in the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Awards. Her operatic roles have included the title role in Carmen at the Royal Albert Hall in Raymond Gubbay’s acclaimed production, receiving rave reviews.
Craig Ogden is one of the most exciting artists of his generation. He studied guitar from the age of seven. In 2004 he became the youngest instrumentalist to receive a Fellowship Award from the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. He has performed concertos with all the main UK orchestras and many abroad. He is also an Associate Artist of The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
