Since his triumph as winner of the 1970 Chopin International Piano Competition, Garrick Ohlsson has established himself worldwide as a musician of magisterial interpretive and technical prowess. He has long been regarded as one of the leading exponents of the music of Frédéric Chopin. A student of the late Claudio Arrau, he commands an enormous repertoire and performs in recitals and with many outstanding orchestras and conductors all over the world. Garrick Ohlsson’s most recent CD releases are two Scriabin discs. His prolific recording output also includes the complete works of Chopin as well as the complete Beethoven sonatas.
