She’Koyokh is a prize-winning klezmer and Balkan band, described by The Guardian as “one of the finest British-based exponents of global music”. She'Koyokh are seven exceptional musicians celebrating their 20th anniversary year and their show is an impressive mix of vocals, clarinet, violin, bagpipes, guitar, accordion, double bass and percussion. Their members hail from Turkey, the Balkans and the UK and their repertoire is rooted in traditional music from Jewish weddings, Greek tavernas, Serbian villages, Bulgarian festivals and Turkish mountains. Their music will make you dance and cry at the same time, in a good way!
She’Koyokh were awarded first prize in the 2008 International Jewish Music Festival in Amsterdam and have been shortlisted twice for Best Group in the Songlines World Music Awards. They have received 5-star reviews for their albums from Songlines, fROOTS, the Evening Standard and the Guardian and performed in venues from the Concertgebouw and the Queen Elizabeth Hall to Glastonbury and WOMAD festivals. She’Koyokh are regulars to BBC Radio 3 and in 2019 composed and performed a prelude to Mahler’s 1st Symphony with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.
